A keeper follows Armin to the cell. Armin goes in, the keeper locks the door and goes. Armin opens his belt and takes the parts of a gun out of his pants. With these parts and the ones under the mattress, he assembles the gun. He places it under the blanket. He goes to the wardrobe with the mirror and says: "Did they leave me the mirror? Shall I have the possibility to kill myself? I will not do them a favour. Never. No." He goes back to the bed and lies on the blanket.
